Explore Walpi, located on First Mesa, is a historic village, with its high-rise dwellings and beautiful sunsets. First Mesa villages are recognized for fine pottery and Katsina dolls. The Hopi Cultural Center is located on the Second Mesa, along with the villages Shungopavi, Sipaulvi and Mishongnovi. Second Mesa villages are noted for coiled baskets and Katsina dolls.

In the villages of the Third Mesa, the women specialize in weaving plaques and baskets of multicolored wicker. These have ceremonial uses, and are also made for the craft market. Indeed, rarely is a Hopi craft merely an attractive design executed in a particular style; all depict something considered important to the maker.

First Mesa Consolidated Villages offers organized tours in their jurisdiction. Visitors may travel freely along primary highways, off-road travel - including jeeps, motorcycles and 4-wheel drive vehicles - is prohibited. Your consideration is truly appreciated.
